Robert Reed Cooey, born on January 8, 1985, left us far too early on December 10, 2025.

He lived a life filled with love, adventure, and marked by his relentless determination.
Known for his strength, protective nature, humor, and immense love, Robert leaves behind a legacy that will resonate forever with those who were lucky enough to know him.

He was an avid water lover, and often expressed his anticipation for his boat to come in. He was also a music lover, always keeping his earbuds close. Sometimes it was hard to tell if he was enjoying the music or if he was cleverly trying to tune out his longtime significant other, Jenn. Robert enjoyed the calm of dawn, watching the sunrise from his porch while sipping his morning coffee and meticulously planning the family meal for the evening. His days were a reflection of his love for his family and his dedication to making each day special for them.

More than that, Robert was a man of the people, who believed that every person he met had a story to share and a lesson to teach. His brief interactions often turned into fascinating tales by the end of the day, enriching him and those around him. The most profound aspect of his legacy is one of genuine love, fearless bravery, and unwavering dedication to his family. He faced the world with an open heart.

Robert is survived by his longtime significant other, Jennifer Adler, and children, Kamila and Emory (Adler). His parents, Robert J. Cooey (Paula) and Suzanne G. Cooey, along with his sisters, Alison Bucceri (Adam) and Patrice Heare (Todd), and their children, as well as many other friends and family.

The loss of Robert will be acutely felt by his best friend and longtime love, Jenn. She will always be thankful for the unconditional love he gave so effortlessly to her and Emory, and for the endless memories of their shared life. His departure has left a deep hollowness that can never be remotely filled.

A service for family and friends will be held at the family’s request.
