In Loving Memory of Robert "Captain Bob" Earl Dazevedo Sr.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert Earl Dazevedo Sr., who completed his final voyage on January 16, 2026, at the age of 84.

Born in New York, NY, on August 11, 1941, Robert, known to his many friends as "Captain Bob," spent the majority of his life in Miami, FL. He was a proud graduate of the Archbishop Curley High School class of 1959. A man of many talents, he was a skilled printer's machinist and later became a master rigger, a trade that spoke to his precision and strength.

Bob's heart, however, truly belonged to the sea. He was an accomplished sailor and seaman who commanded the respect of all who sailed with him. Whether navigating the open ocean or sharing stories with fellow members of the Moose Lodge, most recently at Lodge #2398 LaBelle FL, Captain Bob lived a life full of adventure and camaraderie.

He leaves behind a loving family who will carry his legacy forward. He is survived by his children, Robert Dazevedo Jr. and his wife, Ilonka, Catherine Dazevedo, and Karen Dazevedo Barron, his cherished grandchildren, Nolan Dazevedo (and his wife, Kristi), Emily Barron, and Abigail Barron, as well as his brother and sisters: Claire Stranhagen, Irene Campbell, Lionel Dazevedo, Marianne Dazevedo and Gerry Dazevedo.

He will be remembered for his masterful skill, his adventurous spirit, and the unforgettable stories he told. Fair winds and following seas, Captain Bob. You will be profoundly missed.
