Robert "Bob" Michael Gabriel, 86, of Alpharetta, Georgia, passed peacefully on January 5, 2026. Born on December 4, 1939, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Bob was the son of the late Joseph Gabriel Sr. and Florence Jacobs Gabriel.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Carmel Gabriel; his son, Robert "Bob" Gabriel Jr. (Stacey Gabriel), and his grandchildren, Bobby and Bradley Gabriel; and his daughter, Lisa Gabriel. He is also survived by his brother, Joseph Gabriel Jr. He was preceded in death by his brother, John "Sandy" Gabriel.
Bob lived a life defined by honesty, dedication, and deep love for his family. As a young adult, he stepped in to help support his family after his father passed, an early expression of responsibility and work ethic that would shape his life. He went on to build a long and fulfilling career in commercial real estate finance, a profession he took great pride in and genuinely enjoyed. His success and openness to new opportunities led to numerous promotions and nearly a dozen relocations over the course of his career, each time expanding his circle of friends and colleagues, all while advancing his work and providing for his family. Ultimately, Bob and Carmel settled in Alpharetta, Georgia, to be closer to their children.
Known for his integrity and perseverance, Bob was deeply respected by those who knew him. He was a man of brutal honesty—never afraid to give advice or speak his mind—and friends, family and colleagues all valued his trustworthiness and insight. Above all, Bob was devoted to his family and immensely proud of his children and grandchildren. He laughed often, always with a big smile, and brought kindness, warmth, and humor into everyday moments.
Cremation has taken place. In accordance with his wishes, no formal services are planned. Those who knew and loved Bob are asked to remember him in their thoughts and prayers. In lieu of flowers or food, the family requests that donations be made to your favorite charity in his honor.
