He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Manuel Gil, Lazaro Gil Jr., Margie Gil, his sons Robert Gil Jr., and Mark Anthony Gil. Robert is survived by his brother Eddie Gil, his daughter Rose Mary Delgado (husband Isac Delgado), along with his grandchildren, great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A resident of San Antonio, Robert was known for his quiet strength, generous heart, and steady presence. A skilled fencing professional, he worked on both residential and commercial projects, earning the respect of those who knew his work and his character. He valued time well spent with family and friends. He took pride in the simple moments that brought people together. A man of great depth and humor, he will be remembered for his thoughtful soul, his endless jokes, and the special way he showed he cared. He was one of a kind.
