Robert Alan "Bob" Huffman, age 76, of Prospect, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his home on January 25, 2026, after living with Parkinson's disease for 11 years.

Bob was born on March 10, 1949, in Virginia, Illinois, to William Clarence Huffman and Catherine Braner Huffman. He earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry and business from Mac Murray College and later received his Juris Doctor from St. Louis University School of Law. His career included years in banking, farm finance, and teaching.

Bob was deeply passionate about food and hospitality and was especially known for his scones and chocolate chip cookies. He loved nothing more than entertaining at home. His grandchildren treasured time spent making—and eating—homemade ice cream with Grandpa. Bob made many memorable trips to and from Michigan to take his children to Camp Miniwanca, a place that now welcomes all three of his grandchildren.

Gifted with a keen and agile mind, Bob had an extraordinary ability to perform complex math quickly and accurately—often entirely in his head. Over the course of his life, he enjoyed sailing, motorcycling, and riding horses along with pursuing arts such as weaving and woodworking. He loved music of all styles and listened widely and enthusiastically.

Bob held a strong and enduring faith. At age 19, he served as a youth participant and steward at the Fourth Assembly of the World Council of Churches in Uppsala, Sweden, in 1968. As an adult, he became an Episcopalian and held numerous leadership roles in Episcopal churches over the years. He believed deeply in rehearsing the Sunday lessons before reading them aloud as a lector. Bob was particularly active at All Saints Episcopal Camp in Kentucky, a place close to his heart.

Bob is survived by his wife and partner, Pamela "Kitten" Lawless; his children, Rochet "Shay" Kalinowski (Kevin) of St. Louis and William Stuart Huffman (Desie Gibson) of Silver Spring, Maryland; and their mother, Linda Moore Huffman Aquino (Dr.Tomas) of St. Louis. Bob delighted in sharing stories of his children's accomplishments, from their early years through their most recent milestones. Kitten never distinguished herself as a stepmother, proudly introducing Shay and Stuart simply as "our children."

Bob and Kitten shared immense joy in their three grandchildren—Sammy, Noah, and Molly Kalinowski—who were a constant source of pride and happiness for him.

He is also survived by his sisters, Rebecca Virgin (David) of Arenzville, Illinois, and Robyn Huffman of Sandwich, New Hampshire; sisters-in-law Joy Page (Doug) and Leisa Potter, both of Greenville, South Carolina; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his uncle, Lee Huffman; and his grandparents, George and Alma Huffman and Nellie and Fred Braner; sister-in-law, Donna Merris (Robyn Huffman) and brother-in-law, Jeff Potter.

Services for Bob Huffman will be held on Saturday, February 14, at Christ Church Cathedral, 421 S. Second Street, Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. A reception in Bishop's Hall will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Feed Louisville, 1334 Story Avenue, Louisville, KY 40206 (feedlouisville.org); All Saints Camp, 833 Hickory Grove Road, Leitchfield, KY 42754 (allsaintscenter.org); or Christ Church Cathedral (ccclou.org), American Youth Foundation, Checks maybe mailed to 6357 Clayton Road, St. Louis, MO 63117, or gifts maybe made online at: https://ayf.com/support/ways-to-give/.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Bob's Hosparus nurse, Tasha Hellman, for her compassionate care over the past year, and to Josie Harris, Bob's kind and loving caregiver. They shared many meaningful hours with Bob during the final months of his life, and Josie also provided loving care and support to Kitten. Finally, we would like to profoundly thank the firemen of the Louisville Fire Department Station #38 for their tremendous assistance, care, and kindness every time they were needed.
