Robert Thomas “Tom” Jorden, Jr. passed away peacefully at his beloved family fishing camp, Stateline Hunting and Fishing Club, on March 8, 2026, at the age of 70.

He is survived by his children, Kelly Jorden Eldridge and her husband, Scott and Robert “Bobby” Thomas Jorden, III and his wife, Katie; grandchildren, Jude, Noah, Evangeline, and Jack; sister, Janet Jorden Bergeron and her husband, Mark; nephew, Mason Wayne Jorden and wife, Cristina; nieces, Amanda Bergeron Hylander and her husband, Jared and Allyson Bergeron Williams and her husband, John “Trey”; and several cousins and great nieces and nephews he cherished.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Thomas Jorden, Sr. and Wynneth Braudrick Jorden, and brother, Carl Wayne Jorden.

He was a graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana and Louisiana State University Law Center where he received the American Jurisprudence Constitutional Law Award which is awarded to the student earning the highest score in the class. He practiced oil and gas law for more than 30 years, building a career representing clients in complex energy transactions and litigation and later founded The Jorden Firm. He also shared his knowledge through professional leadership, writing, and presentations in mineral and energy law.

He spent much of his life doing what he loved most: hunting, fishing, and training hunting dogs. These passions brought him great joy, and he was proud to serve as president of the Stateline Hunting and Fishing Club for nearly 20 years. He also found great happiness at Little Chenier Hunting Club, a place where he shared memories with family and friends spanning generations. Above all else, he treasured his family and loved his grandchildren deeply.

Services will be held on Saturday, March 21st at St. Edmond Catholic Church, 4131 West Congress St., Lafayette, LA 70506, with visitation beginning at 11:30 AM and a memorial service following at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in honor of his grandson, Jack Thomas Jorden.
