Robert Edward Lee

1955 - 2026

Bob Lee didn't just live his life — he lived it wide open, at full throttle, with a grin on his face and the wind at his back. Whether he was carving down a mountain, roaring down a racetrack, exploring an underwater world, or simply making the people around him laugh, Bob brought the same infectious energy to everything he did. He was the kind of person who made a room brighter the moment he walked in, and the world is a little quieter without him.

Born on February 3, 1955, Robert Lee — known to everyone as Bob — grew up to become a man of remarkable range. He answered his country's call with pride, serving in the United States Army as an Army Ranger, receiving an honorable discharge. The discipline and spirit he gained in the service carried him through a life full of bold chapters and second acts.

After his military service, Bob refused to be pinned down by any single path. He wore many professional hats over the years, never losing his drive to learn and grow. In the final years of his career, he found a meaningful home in the medical software industry, where his sharp mind and dedication left a lasting mark. But perhaps one of his proudest and most beloved roles was serving on the National Ski Patrol for more than a decade — a fitting post for a man who was as comfortable on a snowy mountainside as anywhere on Earth.

When Bob wasn't working, he was chasing the next adventure. He was a motorcycle and auto racer who knew the thrill of speed and the satisfaction of the ride. He was a scuba diver who found peace in the quiet depths of the ocean. He was a skier who could read a mountain like a map. He was a traveler who understood that the world is vast and life is short — so you'd better see as much of it as you can.

Above all, Bob was a family man. He found deep love and partnership with his wife, Cheryl, who was by his side through so many of life's greatest moments. He was a father, a grandfather, a stepfather, a brother, and a brother-in-law — a man who showed up with humor, heart, and warmth for everyone he loved.
