Robert Mansfield Lockhart, age 61, passed away on February 19, 2026, at HCA Florida Kendall in Miami, Florida.

Born in Welch, West Virginia, Robert was the son of Earl and Wanda Lockhart. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Lockhart.

Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army and carried that same sense of duty and patriotism throughout his life. Following his military service, he dedicated himself to a career in nursing, where his leadership, intelligence, and steady presence made a lasting impact on countless colleagues and patients.

He advanced to serve as Emergency Department Manager at Gaston Memorial Hospital, where he earned the respect of those he led and worked alongside. Later, Robert served as a clinical consultant for Medhost and as a Registered Nurse at J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center, forming many lifelong friendships along the way. Robert was also very proud to be a Mason and, serve alongside his fellow brothers at the Fallston Lodge #356.

Robert is survived by his loving mother, Wanda Lockhart; his brothers, Richard Lockhart and Ryan Lockhart (wife Crystal Lockhart and daughter Jayden Lockhart); and his devoted wife of 39 years, Kimberly Lockhart, the love of his life. He is also survived by his son, Randal Lockhart (wife Chelsea Lockhart) and grandchildren River, Winnifred, and Reed Lockhart; and his daughter, Erin Blanton (husband Kelsey Blanton).

An avid fisherman who cherished the outdoors, Robert found peace in the simple beauty of nature. Above all, family was the foundation of his life. He was the steady presence, the advisor, the protector often the glue that held everything together.

If there is one lesson to carry forward from Robert's life, it is this: never miss an opportunity to sit in the sand and enjoy the world while you are here, no matter the circumstances.

A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.

In lieu of flowers or donations, the family asks that you honor Robert by stepping back and investing time in your own family because, that is what mattered most to him.
