Robert Paul Morrone, 73 and a resident of Lakewood Ranch, Florida since 2012, passed from time into eternity to be with the Lord on December 31, 2025.
Robert ("Rob") was born October 9, 1952, at Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital in Los Angeles, California to Michael and Idabelle (Jefferson) Morrone. Rob shared his birthday with his mother, who regularly said he was her very best birthday gift. Rob is preceded in death by his parents, as well as his son Michael Paul Morrone.
Rob grew up in the Los Angeles/San Fernando Valley area of Southern California along with his four siblings - two sisters and two brothers. Rob was the fourth in the birth order. Not long after graduating in 1971 from Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California, Rob enlisted in the United States Air Force where he attained the rank of Sergeant and served as a weapons specialist, stationed out of Nellis AFB in Las Vegas and deployed to Thailand on temporary duty for several months. After his military service was completed, Rob built a successful career as a highly skilled Software Engineer and Senior Database Architect, working as a self-employed consultant or full-time employee for many large corporations including Iron Mountain, Microsoft, Jabil and Emerson, to name a few, and retiring in July 2021.
After his retirement, Rob relished "living the dream", as he frequently said, in sunny Florida, enjoying the Sarasota beaches, his pool, playing golf, traveling, reading, and especially spending time with friends. With an insatiable and innate curiosity, Rob was a lifelong learner with countless interests and hobbies. There was nothing he could not figure out.
Rob was a devoted husband, a loving father and a loyal friend. But before all else, Rob was a Christian whose love for his Savior, Jesus Christ, and commitment to sharing his deep and mature faith in God and His promises was always his priority.
Rob is survived by his cherished wife of 23 years, Janet (Brewer) Morrone, his daughter Lisa Morrone, his stepson Ryan Anderson and wife Allison (Jacobs) Anderson, his stepdaughter Jacqueline (Anderson) DeVries and husband Robert DeVries, and his 7 adored grandchildren: Abigail DeVries, Betsy DeVries, Margaret DeVries, Robert ("Bobby") DeVries, Asher Hamman, Silas Hamman, and August Anderson. Rob is also survived by his sister Rhio (Morrone) Gillis and husband Greg Wiedower, his sister Roberta Wilson, his brother Richard Morrone, and his brother Rhion Morrone and wife Linda (Cumberland) Morrone.
Rob will be deeply missed by all those who were blessed to be known and loved by him.
"Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope." (I Thessalonians 4:13)
