Robert G. "Bob" Nordmeyer Jr., age 60, of Fox Lake, Illinois, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 4, 2026. Born on March 23, 1966, in Burlington, Wisconsin, Bob lived a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to his family and friends.

A proud graduate of McHenry West High School in 1984, Bob began his career at Wright Tree Service before dedicating 36 years to Ben Watts Marina. His work ethic and commitment were evident in everything he did, earning him the respect and admiration of those who worked alongside him.

Bob was a devoted family man whose love for his wife Debbie was the foundation of his life. Their story began in the most serendipitous way—on Route 12—when Debbie gave him her number while he was flagging traffic. He called her the next day, and from that moment on, their love story unfolded into a beautiful marriage that spanned 35 years. Together they built a life centered around their children, Brandon (Lindsay) Nordmeyer and Karleigh Nordmeyer (Tim Kuligoski), and their cherished grandchildren Sutton, Bo, and Emersyn.

Family was Bob’s world. He showed his love daily through his care, protection, humor, and unwavering presence. Whether riding his Harley on trips with his son and friends or singing karaoke with his daughter, Bob created countless memories that will be treasured forever. His backyard oasis became a haven for family gatherings around the campfire or pool—a place where laughter echoed and bonds grew stronger.

Bob had an undeniable zest for life. He loved fishing, riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, cooking outdoors on his smoker or grill as the self-proclaimed “BBQ king,” and spending time in his beloved garage. Music brought him joy; he loved singing karaoke and sharing moments of fun with those around him. His warmth extended beyond family—he was a great friend who always offered a helping hand and made everyone feel valued.

Bob is survived by his loving wife Debbie; son Brandon (Lindsay) Nordmeyer; daughter Karleigh Nordmeyer (Tim Kuligoski); grandchildren Sutton, Bo, and Emersyn; sister Deb (Brian) Claypool and their children Makenna, Josh, and Brianna; stepfather Don Taylor; stepsiblings Don (Denise) Taylor, Debbie Taylor, and Danny Taylor; father-in-law John Watts; mother-in-law Rose Watts; brother-in-law John Watts; as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Robert Nordmeyer Sr. and mother Margaret Taylor.

Bob’s legacy is one of unconditional love and kindness. He was the kind of man who made people feel like they mattered—whether you’d known him your whole life or had just met him that day. His love will never fade but will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

May Bob’s memory bring comfort to those who mourn his passing as they celebrate the remarkable life he lived so fully.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Debbie to help ease the burden of unexpected costs. Thank you!
