Robert "Bob" Pickard, 92, of Holland, Michigan, passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 7, 2026. Born on October 29, 1933, in Detroit, Michigan, Bob lived a full and vibrant life that touched the hearts of many. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who shared in his life.

Bob attended the University of Michigan and carried a lifelong passion for its football program, enjoying both current games and revisiting classic matchups. Following in his father Stafford's footsteps, Bob became the owner of Pickard Heating and Cooling in Rochester, Michigan. After selling the company, he embarked on a new venture by starting a home inspection business in Phoenix, Arizona, where he worked for 15 years.

Later in life, Bob moved to Holland, Michigan, where he found joy and community at Evergreen Commons. There he played cards, took painting lessons, volunteered in the kitchen, and discovered a passion for painting. His artistic pursuits brought him great fulfillment and became an enduring hobby. Even after being diagnosed with dementia, Bob continued to find connection and happiness at Evergreen's Day Center. He made many new friends there and delighted others with his colorful cartoon character socks—a small but memorable expression of his personality.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents Stafford and Lois Pickard and his son Bobby. He is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Barbara; his brother James of Livonia, Michigan; daughters Cheryl Boyle (Samuel) of Georgetown, South Carolina; Karen Butler (DeRoy) of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina; stepsons Michael Grose (Karen) of Las Vegas, New Mexico; Stephen Grose (Laurel) of Holland, Michigan; and Thomas Grose (Eileen) of San Antonio, Texas. Bob also leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy and pride.

A well-known secret among those close to Bob was his love for Hudsonville ice cream—a simple pleasure that reflected his warm spirit.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held at Saint Peter's Catholic Church at 100 St. Peter's Drive in Douglas, Michigan. The service will begin at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service. A luncheon will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jubilee Ministries at 96 W 15th St., Holland, MI 49423 or the Day Center of Evergreen at 55 W 16th St., Holland, MI 49423.

May Robert "Bob" Pickard's memory bring comfort to all who knew him as they celebrate a life well-lived. A Celebration of Life will be held on April 27, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 02:00 PM at Saint Peter's Catholic Church 100 St. Peters Dr. Lunch will be served.
