Mr. Robert Henry Prettyman, Sr., age 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 24, 2025, in Westampton, New Jersey. Born in March 1943, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Robert lived a life marked by dedication to his work, unwavering loyalty to his family, and a deep love for his hometown sports teams.
Best known as Bob, Robert and his wife built their first home in Indian Mills, Shamong Township and lived there for 23 years. In 1990, they moved to Englewood, Florida where they remained until 2023.
Robert built a long and respected career with Cumberland Farms, where he worked for 25 years as a regional supervisor. After retiring, Bob continued to work at Boca Grande Club on Gasparilla Island, Florida as a security guard for ten years. Known for his strong work ethic and steadfast reliability, he never called out of work, a testament to his commitment and sense of responsibility. His no-nonsense attitude and belief in doing what needed to be done earned him the respect of colleagues and those around him.
At the heart of Robert’s life was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Cecilia; his oldest daughter, Cecilia (Warren), son Robert Jr. (Michele); and youngest daughter Mary (Frank). He loved his family fiercely and took immense pride in being present for them. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He always had nicknames for the grand children (9) and great grandchildren (12)
A true Philadelphian at heart, Robert was an avid supporter of all the city’s sports teams—especially the Flyers, Phillies, and Eagles. Whether it was cheering from the stands or watching from home, he followed each season with passion and loyalty. Golf was another favorite pastime that brought him joy and relaxation. Robert was also a longtime member of the Indian Mills Deer Club for over twenty five years where he would play poker faithfully every Friday night.
Robert also enjoyed watching classic television shows like *M*A*S*H* and game shows that tested knowledge—his love for trivia was well known among those close to him. His infectious laugh could light up a room, making even ordinary moments memorable. One of Robert's favorite pastimes was attending his grandchildren's sporting events.
A man of principle who valued hard work and perseverance, Robert lived by simple but powerful ideals: do what you have to do—get it done. His legacy lives on through the values he instilled in those who knew him best.
A Celebration of Life event is planned in the spring.
