Robert S. Rogers, affectionately known as "Bobby" or "BR", passed away on December 29, 2025, in Anchorage, Alaska, at the age of 71, after courageously battling esophageal cancer.

Born on November 1, 1954, in Topeka, Kansas, Robert lived a life marked by dedication to family, service to his country, and a spirited love for sports and knowledge.

Robert proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1972 to 1976, stationed at Charleston Air Force Base in South Carolina. His time in the military reflected his strong sense of duty and commitment—qualities that would continue to define him throughout his life.

Growing up in South Carolina, he enjoyed baseball, hunting, fishing, and spending time with friends at Drunken Jack's. A lifelong sports enthusiast, Bobby later found great joy competing in men's and co-ed adult softball leagues, where his teams frequently earned first-place league and tournament finishes. He received numerous individual honors, including Game MVP, Tournament MVP, and Highest Batting Average. He brought energy, competitiveness, and camaraderie to every field he stepped on.

His passion for sports was matched only by his sharp wit and love of trivia. Known for his quick humor and encyclopedic memory of facts, he could always be counted on to liven up a conversation or win a friendly quiz night.

Robert was a devoted husband to Jill Rogers and a loving father to Derek Rogers and Rebecca Myers. He welcomed his son-in-law, Ryan Myers, with warmth and pride — and a shared appreciation for good whiskey. His grandchildren, Emery, Hadley, and Nolan, brought him immense joy and were deeply cherished. He shared a close bond with his sister, Nan McLean, and his niece, Laine Orcutt. Though not related by blood, he considered Joel and Mike Fuller his brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marjorie and Clewren Rogers.

True to his practical nature, Robert firmly believed in spending time with the living, not the dead, and did not wish for a memorial service to be held. Jill will honor his wishes by distributing his ashes and visiting those closest to him.

Robert will be remembered for his humor, loyalty, competitive spirit, and unwavering love for his family and friends. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
