Robert "Bob" Schwartz

Robert (Bob) Schwartz, 76, of Glenview, Illinois, passed away on March 12, 2026 from complications of Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson's.

Bob was born on December 11, 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri to Edith and Carl Schwartz. He graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and later served in the Naval Reserves.

Bob was a devoted husband to his wife, Betsy, and a loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, sons Brad (Laurel) and Andy (Ally), and his cherished grandchildren, Mara, Hunter, Graham and Nolan. Also, he is survived by his sister, Carol Cohen and brother, Steve Schwartz as well as many nieces and nephews, including Jason Holt.

A dedicated member of his community, Bob spent more than 25 years as a baseball coach and Director of the Northbrook Baseball League, helping guide and mentor countless young athletes. He was always patient with his players and a great teacher of baseball. He also served as a Boy Scout leader for Troop 67 in Northbrook, sharing his time and wisdom with many young people over the years.

Bob had a passion for golf and was know[BS1.1]n for his level-headed and logical nature. His steady presence, kindness and thoughtful approach to life left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He could carry a conversation with anyone!

The Schwartz family would like to especially thank the staff at North Shore Place Memory Care for their love and kindness during his long stay at their facility.

Services Tuesday, 10AM at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 8851 Skokie Blvd (at Niles Center Road), Skokie. Interment Sunset Memorial Lawns.
