Robert Edward Skillman Jr., 74, passed away on February 22, 2026, in Ellicott City, Maryland, just one day shy of his 75th birthday.

Born on February 23, 1951, Bob lived a life filled with dedication to his family, his profession, and the many adventures that brought him joy.

After graduating from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) in 1973, he went on to earn his degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 1977. He spent 41 years caring for patients as a general dentist in Elkridge, Maryland, retiring in 2018. Those who knew him through his practice remember not only his skill but also the kindness and warmth he shared with everyone who walked through his door.

Bob loved the outdoors and rarely passed up an opportunity for adventure. He enjoyed swimming, scuba diving, snorkeling, boating, and geocaching, and he especially loved traveling the country in his RV exploring new places. Some of his happiest moments were spent outdoors with his beloved dog, Arlo.

Above all else, Bob treasured his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Regina "Jean" Skillman; his son, Matthew Skillman, Matthew's wife Lauren, and their two children; and his daughter, Maggie Murgolo, her husband John, and their child. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Edward Skillman Sr. and Marian Skillman.

Bob will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his generous heart, and the love he shared with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
