Robert C. Waldo passed away on November 19, 2025, in Tavares, Florida, at the age of 92. Born on October 18, 1933, in Stamford, Connecticut, Robert lived a full and varied life that took him from New England to the warmth of Florida.
He was the beloved son of Theodore and Martha E. (Pratt) Waldo. Over the years, Robert made his home in several places, including Londonderry, Vermont, where he worked as both an innkeeper and a woodworker—roles that reflected his hands-on spirit and appreciation for craftsmanship.
Robert shared more than 66 years of marriage with Dawn Hough. Together they built a life rooted in love and resilience. Their family included sons Robert Jr. of Brookfield, Connecticut, and Marc of South Londonderry, Vermont; granddaughter Victoria McClelland (Eugene); and great-granddaughters Sophie and Audrey McClelland. He was predeceased by his son Richard; granddaughter Jessica; and daughters-in-law Linda and Betsy.
In his later years, Robert found companionship with Denise, whose presence brought comfort and joy during his final chapter.
Throughout his life, Robert enjoyed camping trips under open skies, spirited games of bowling and cards, and cheering on his favorite sports teams. He served as an equipment manager for New Canaan Boys Baseball and was an active scout leader. He also had a passion for jigsaw puzzles—a quiet pursuit that reflected his patience and attention to detail.
After relocating to Eustis, Florida, Robert embraced retirement with enthusiasm. He spent time enjoying poker games with friends and soaking in the natural beauty around him.
A service will be held at a later date.
