Brother to the late Thomas White (MHS 58) and his wife Arlyn of Middleborough, MA, devoted and much-loved dad to Tammy MacAulay- Jones and her husband Robert (MFD), survived by his children Mitzi, Jimmy, Michelle and Kimberly. Bob was a proud graduate of Medford High School class of 1960. He attended Wentworth University and went on to graduate from Northeastern University with a degree in electrical engineering. Bob worked for Boston Edison for over 40 years. He was very proud to work at many substations including L Street and Mystic power station. He also worked at the nuclear power plant in Plymouth, MA being called back to do overhauls up into his late 70s because he was so knowledgeable about the plant. Bob was very proud to be a union worker. He was vice president of Local 369 fighting endlessly for the rights of union employees at Boston Edison. At negotiations, he was never afraid to flip a table or two to get his point across! He enjoyed his retirement years spending time at his home in Harwichport, MA and wintering at his home in Pompano Beach FL. Bob could be found tending to his many gardens lovingly growing and caring for his plants. He enjoyed clamming at Pleasant Bay in Harwich always digging up the best quahogs and little necks. He was famous for his clam sauce. Bob enjoyed playing cribbage, sitting on the beach on Ocean Ave. and listening to 50s music but his greatest joy was being with his grandsons Bob never missed a hockey, baseball, soccer or football game. He was at every Boy Scout gathering, play or any event that his three grandsons were involved in. He was the best “Gaga” as the boys named him years ago. He will be missed cheering on his youngest grandson this spring at Belmont Hill school. Bob was the best!
