Robert “Woody” Woodburn, 77, of Antioch, California, passed away March 23, 2026. He was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1948. Woody graduated from The Delehanty Institute of New York, completing the Automotive Mechanics Course with honors. He was married to Kathleen in 1969, celebrating their 56th anniversary last year. Woody pursued a profession in auto repair, working as a certified mechanic for a range of manufacturers including Ford, Buick, and Chevrolet. He owned and operated Woody’s Automotive in Danville, California for nearly a decade, which provided the opportunity to also work on motorcycles, a lifelong passion of his. Woody’s proudest accomplishment was putting each of his children, Robert Jr., Michael, Shelly, and Julie, through 12 years of private Catholic school, with all four of them also earning college degrees. In addition to his wife and children, Woody is survived by his grandchildren Drew, Wyatt, Harrison, and Willa, as well as his siblings Nancy Gutheil, Bill Woodburn, and Bobbi Estey. A memorial service will be held at 1PM-3PM, April 26, 2026 at Ouimet Brothers Concord Funeral Chapel.
