Rod graduated from the University of Connecticut and soon after began a fulfilling career at The Hartford Insurance Co. in the Data Processing Department. Over his 33 years at HIG, Rod worked in various capacities, always bringing his innovative spirit to his roles. Beyond his professional endeavors, he enjoyed volunteering with Meals on Wheels in Hartford, delivering meals to those in need and tutoring with Literacy Volunteers.
An avid sailor, Rod spent countless hours maintaining and sailing his prized 1954 wooden Hinckley yawl. His also had a passion for knowledge, often found reading and researching various topics. His remarkable memory and extensive knowledge base made him a formidable debater.
Rod is survived by his wife, Linda Curtiss. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reta and Roderick Curtiss. Rod's legacy of kindness, curiosity will be remembered by all who knew him.
