Roger Carlton, affectionately known as "Cowpa" or "Papa" to his beloved grandchildren, passed away on February 13, 2026, in Nampa, Idaho. He was 66 years old.

Born on March 23, 1959, in Soap Lake, Washington, Roger was the son of Bob and Marjorie "Jeane" Carlton. From his early days in Washington to his later years in Idaho, Roger lived a life marked by deep connections with family and a passion for the things he loved most.

Roger shared a life with the love of his life his wife, Pamela Carlton. Together they built a family rooted in love and laughter. He was a proud father to his son Jesse Carlton and Jesse's wife Nanci; daughters Jennifer Espinoza and her husband Lenny; and Brandy Coulombe and her husband Evander. His role as "Papa" brought him immense joy, especially in the time he spent with his five cherished grandchildren: Anna, Aidan, Luke, Oaklee, and Chase.

Family meant everything to Roger. He leaves behind his sisters Barbara Neiwert and her husband Barry; Linda Bowery and husband Chuck.

Roger's circle of love extended to the Powers Family. His best friend was John Powers and John's wife Mari were constants in his life, along with their children Justin, Brianna, CJ, Shylo, their spouses and their children —each of whom held a special place in Roger's heart.

A man who found peace and happiness outdoors, Roger had an enduring love for nature. Whether it was camping under the stars, fishing, or simply enjoying the fresh air, the outdoors was where he felt most at home. He loved exploring the Stanley basin and Tetons with his family. He was also an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys—a loyalty that never wavered through seasons of triumphs and trials alike.

Roger was rotten and playful, the kind of man who loved to stir the pot just to make you laugh. His humor and mischief were part of what made him unforgettable.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Bob Carlton and Marjorie "Jeane" Carlton.

A celebration of Roger's life will be held in the near future.

Roger's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him and serve as a reminder of a life well-lived—full of laughter, loyalty, and love.
