Roger "Shannon" Stallard passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2025.
Shannon grew up in Richlands, Virginia and was a graduate of Richlands High School. He served his country in the United States Navy following his graduation. He later made his home in Abingdon, Virginia, where he spent many meaningful years surrounded by friends and family.
An avid outdoorsman, Shannon enjoyed hunting and fishing and found peace in the outdoors. These passions were a meaningful part of his life and will be remembered by those who knew him.
Shannon is survived by his wife, Nicole Stallard; three sons, Logan Stallard, Micah Stallard, and Ian Stallard; and four daughters, Elisha Cooper, Shae Norman, Lexia Stallard, and Jordyn Carrico; one sister, Karen Deel and Hobert Lester of Richlands, Virginia; and three brothers, Butch Stallard and wife Sharon of Abingdon, Virginia, Kevin Stallard and wife Patricia of Cedar Bluff, Virginia, and Shawn Stallard and wife Rebecca of Abingdon, Virginia; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Shannon was preceded in death by his loving parents, Roger B. Stallard and Jacklyn Stallard of Pounding Mill, Virginia; and a nephew Kevin Jack Stallard II of Cedar Bluff, Virginia.
Shannon will be remembered for his loving heart, his appreciation of the outdoors, and the simple, meaningful life he lived. His memory will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
The Stallard family will host a Service of Remembrance and Memorial Luncheon on January 1, 2026, in the Banquet Room at Giovanni's, 2003 Second Street, Richlands, Virginia, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
