Roger Lee Wachter, aged 82, passed away on January 13, 2026, in El Dorado Hills, CA. Born on February 26, 1943 in Stockton, IL, Roger dedicated over three decades of his career to AT&T before successfully running his own private shipping business for 15 years.
Roger is remembered for his kind nature, generous spirit, and warm sense of humor, which put everyone around him at ease. He was an avid gardener, a voracious reader, and a passionate sports fan, loyally supporting the Chicago Bears and Cubs. His love for travel took him to many places, with France being a favorite destination. Roger also cherished attending his granddaughter Sophia's soccer and rugby games, celebrating each moment with enthusiasm.
He is survived by his daughter Susan, son Andrew, son-in-law Josh, daughter-in-law Nicole, and his cherished granddaughters Sophia, Adelyn, Aubrey, Avery, and Autumn. He also leaves behind his sisters Glenda, Alta, Joyce, Beverly, and many nieces and nephews. Roger was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Bonnie, his parents Glen and Josephine, his sister Annette, and brothers Gerald, Carson, Russell, and Keith.
Roger graduated from Stockton High School and later attended DeVry University of Chicago, which laid the groundwork for his successful career.
At this time, no memorial service is planned. Roger will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his legacy of kindness and humor will be cherished by his family and friends.
