Roland L Delisle, 87, of Wakefield NH passed peacefully at home surrounded by family after bravely battling cancer. Although he was in pain, he faced his illness with much courage, never complaining, always smiling and laughing.
He was an avid card player, enjoyed sports, fishing and camping with his family. He was thoughtful and a giving person, always ready to help others. A wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather, brother, brother in-law and uncle. He surely will be missed by all and definitely irreplaceable.
Born in Berlin NH to Andre and Eva (Michaud) Delisle, he attended Berlin High School, leaving Berlin in 1957 for work, moving to East Harford CT later to Portsmouth NH where he raised his family, retiring in Wakefield NH.
He was a talented certified boiler technician worked for two large boiler companies in Portsmouth NH until his retirement. He was a gifted carpenter, building several homes and a brilliant mechanic.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 70 years, marrying in January 1956 to Nancy (Labbe) Delisle of Wakefield NH, two daughters, Lorraine Cronin of Portsmouth NH, Janet (Gary) Landry of Golden Valley AZ, two sons, Gary (Cindy) Delisle of Nottingham NH, Richard "Ricky" (Lisa) Delisle of Milton NH, 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, brother and sister in-laws, Edmond (Joan) Labbe, Dennis (Denise) Labbe and Carol (Labbe) Shaughnessy, many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, his beloved mother in-law Hattie (Demers) Labbe, a son, Paul R Delisle, grandchildren, Jason King and Kari (Delisle) Zogopoulos, great-grandchildren, Trevor Delisle and Kyana Zogopoulos, son in-law, William "Bill" Cronin, brothers and sister in-laws, George (Ann), Paul (Priscilla), Andrew (Sally), Richard (Cheryl), Leo (Helen), Maurice (Lauraine) Delisle and sisters and brother in-law, Beatrice (Henri) Poulin and Lucille Delisle, brother in-laws, Clarence "Sonny", Kenneth, David "CB", and Paul Labbe.
The family plans a celebration of life in Spring/Summer 2026.
