Ron Conlin was born on September 14, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois, the second of five siblings. After the early loss of his father, Edison, Ron stepped into responsibility at a young age, an experience that shaped a lifetime defined by service, leadership, and care for others.
Ron devoted more than five decades to public safety, law enforcement, and community service. He began his career with the New Orleans Police Department, serving in patrol, investigations, crime prevention, special assignments, and public information roles. In addition to his law enforcement career, Ron discreetly assisted the United States government in sensitive national security work during the Cold War, a contribution he carried out with humility and discretion.
He later spent nearly 30 years in corporate loss prevention and security with 7 Eleven, overseeing safety, investigations, and violence prevention efforts across large regions of the United States and Canada, and contributing to international employee safety initiatives. In 1999, Ron founded Eagles Eye Consultants, where he was widely respected as a security consultant and expert witness.
Ron also dedicated countless hours to nonprofit and volunteer leadership, holding long standing roles with Crime Stoppers at the local, state, and national levels, and serving with the American Red Cross in Northwest Washington. He believed deeply in collaboration between law enforcement, the private sector, and the community, and shared his passion for public safety as a co anchor of Cop Talk Radio.
Among his many awards, in 2012, Ron was honored as a lifetime member of the FBI Citizens Academy Alumni Association—one of the first such distinctions awarded nationwide—in recognition of his service to the FBI, his community, and the nation.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Edison and Irene, and his brother, Jim. He is survived by his brother, Randy; his sisters, Veronica and Victoria (Jay); his sons, Sean and Seth; his cherished granddaughter, Bella; and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly and will continue to honor his life and legacy.
A memorial service honoring Ron's life will be held on February 13 at 11:00 a.m. at
Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 2617 Cedar Street, Everett, Washington.
