Born on April 15, 1944, in London, Ohio, Ronald was a dedicated father, professional soldier, and educator whose life was marked by service, dedication, and a profound love for his family.

Ron dedicated his life to family and both the military and education.

As a professional soldier and NCO, he served with distinction, completing three combat tours of duty in support of the Vietnam conflict. His military accolades include the Combat Infantry Badge. He was awarded the Legion of Merit, and three Bronze Stars (V device). It is noteworthy to note that he was nominated for a Silver Star for his actions as Platoon Sergeant, defending an attack that took place during combat action defending hostilities supporting the Teht offensive.

His legacy is rich with the respect and admiration of his peers and subordinates.

A meaningful part of Ron's career was serving as an adjunct professor at Webster College, Fort Stewart campus.

His expertise and dedication to teaching were matched only by his commitment to public service, which continued through his post military retirement work with the United States Defense Threat Reduction Agency, Washington DC.

He is also a survivor of the September 11th attacks while serving as a Department of the Army Civilian when the Pentagon was attacked.

Ronald was a devoted family man. He is survived by his current wife, Theresa, and his sons, Dirk and Jason. He also had two previous wives, Patricia and Margareta, and stepchildren, National and Mollie.

His family was his greatest joy, and he was blessed with the arrival of a great grandson, Henry Ames Crist, from his granddaughter Margaret Clare Crist and her husband, Brenton just before his passing.

Ronald's life was a testament to his sense of humor and his love for cooking, particularly grilling, which brought him and his loved ones together in shared meals and laughter.

His legacy is one of a man who loved life and lived it to its fullest, always ready to serve and always eager to share his warmth and wisdom with those who knew him.

Ronald was predeceased by his mother, Edwina McGuire, and his sister, Judy. Though they are no longer with us, their memory lives on in the hearts of those who knew them.
