Ronald "Ron" Clancy, Sr., of Dover, Pennsylvania, passed away on January 21, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on June 29, 1951, in Manchester, Pennsylvania, Ron lived a life marked by dedication—to his family, his country, his community, and the natural world.

Ron shared 55 years of marriage with Brenda J. Clancy (Allison). Together they raised two children: daughter Melissa Staub (Jeff) and son Ronald Clancy Jr (Jamie). He is also remembered by five grandchildren—Allison and Kaitlyn Staub; Ronald Clancy III; Abigail Clancy; and Mason Clancy—as well as his close sister, Bonnie Baughman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Doris Clancy; his brother David Clancy; niece Julie Baughman; and nephew Matthew Clancy.

From 1969 to 1972, Ron served honorably in the United States Marine Corps. Following his military service, he embarked on a 27-year career as a Game Warden with the Pennsylvania Game Commission, where he demonstrated a steadfast commitment to conservation and wildlife protection.

Ron was a founding member of the Beaver Creek Conservation Group and remained actively involved in environmental initiatives after retiring from New Penn Motor Freight. He also contributed to both national and local chapters of the National Wild Turkey Federation and assisted with Youth Field Day events, helping to educate young people about hunting ethics and wildlife stewardship.

A passionate outdoorsman, Ron found joy in hunting turkey, deer, and bear—pursuits that reflected his deep connection to nature.

We will have a Celebration of Life for Ron on Saturday, February 28th from 1 pm to 3 pm, 4-H Center, 771 Stoverstown Road, York, PA. (Please send a message to Melissa Staub via Facebook, if you plan to attend, so we can prepare food and drinks.) We will celebrate Ron's life with food, fellowship. Please come with your favorite story of Ron. We truly want this to be a celebration. Ron was an amazing man who had a zest for life. He loved life, had a huge heart and smile. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and inspiration to those who follow in his footsteps.
