Ronald Alan Colyar

Ronald Alan Colyar, a resident of Yonkers, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at White Plains hospital. He was 63 years old.

Ron was born on July 23, 1962, in Bronx, NY. He was the youngest son to Mary and James Colyar. He grew up with his parents and 5 siblings, in Castle Hill until he moved to Yonkers at the age of 11.

Ron was vibrant, protective, and enjoyed quality time with family. As a child he was partial to spending time outdoors and would sometimes bring nature into the house for his mother to catch and bring back outside. In true younger sibling fashion, he enjoyed roughhousing with his older brothers and their friends. Other times he could be found raking up leaves for his younger sisters to jump in or reading with his big sis. Up until his mother passed away, he would volunteer to come across town to shovel every time it snowed. Family-time was his happy space.

He worked with his father for many years enhancing his carpentry skills, which would come in handy for the years to follow. He joined the US Army Reserves at the age of 21 where he served for a few years until he was honorably discharged. He spent most of his career working in security. He was hardworking, hospitable, and a light to all who knew him. Regardless of the challenges he experienced, his heart was always golden.

Ronald was predeceased by his parents James Henry Colyar and Mary Jean Colyar. He is survived by his siblings, Dwayne, Glenn, Theresa, Lisa, and Erika Colyar, along with his bonus sisters Lola and Allison, his nieces and nephews: James, Jason, and Jeffrey Colyar, Mar-li Pitcher, and Kylie Colyar, Alexis Jessamy, Fariyd Towns, Indiya Colyar, LaKeya and Sharise Harris, Allen and Jerome Davis, as well as his great-nieces and great nephews: Karmen Harris, Elijah Young, Rubi Colyar, Ryomi Davis, Jah-Mir Towns, and Saraiah Young. Ronald was a present and active father-figure to all his nieces and nephews whenever possible, and he loved them as if they were his own. He will be missed profoundly, and his memory will be cherished abundantly.
