Deacon Ronald G. Davis Sr. was born on October 5, 1946, in Berkeley, California. From an early age, he was baptized and professed his faith in Christ, establishing the foundation for a life devoted to service and spirituality.
Church Involvement
For more than 30 years, Deacon Davis was a dedicated member of New Angel of Faith MB Church. He contributed his musical talents as the church drummer under the leadership of Pastor Joe Leavy. His commitment to the church and his role in worship were well-known among the congregation.
Education and Military Service
Deacon Davis graduated from Froebel High School, where he enjoyed both listening to and playing music. Following his graduation, he honorably served in the United States Air Force, demonstrating his dedication to his country.
Professional Career
After completing his military service, Deacon Davis worked at NIPSCO, where he was respected by his colleagues and known for his strong work ethic. He eventually retired from his position there.
Personal Life
Affectionately known as "Twin" or "Skee" by many, Deacon Davis built lasting and meaningful relationships with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick L. Davis Sr.; mother, Cecile L. Bullock; son, Ronald Davis Jr.; brothers, Frederick Jr. and Donald W. Davis Sr.; special friend, Anita M. Wilson; and daughter-in-law, Nicole Brewer.
Legacy
Deacon Davis leaves to cherish his memory his sons: Lake County Councilman Ronald G. Brewer Sr. (Gary, IN), Donald W. Davis (Merrillville, IN), Lance Davis (Berkeley, California), and Port Davis (Merrillville, IN); his daughter, Leslie (Racquel) Hardin (Merrillville, IN); ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his brother, Alan E. Davis; sisters, Mavis Y. Williams and Malea G. Dortch; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends, and his special friend, Peggy McNeely.
