Ronald Allen Gardetto of Anaheim, California, passed away on March 31, 2026, at the age of 84, with his wife, Eva, and his daughter, Katie, by his side.
Born on May 24, 1941, Ron grew up in Los Angeles. After high school, he began working as a printer, a career that would last his entire working life. At the age of 19, he left the printing company to join the United States Marine Corps. Ron proudly served his country during the Cuban Missile Crisis and the early years of the Vietnam War. After his time in the service, he moved to Orange County and returned to his job as a printer at Pacific Press. He worked there until its closure in 1984, and later at The Dot Printer in Irvine until his retirement.
Ron had a strong work ethic and took great pride in providing for his family through hard work. He was also very proud of his military service. His time in the Marines instilled in him a deep love for his country that remained with him throughout his life. He was proud to see his son and grandsons follow in his footsteps by serving their country.
Ron loved baseball and was a devoted fan of the California Angels from the team's very first season in 1961. He enjoyed cheering them on and watched nearly every Angels game through the years. Above all, Ron cherished time with his loved ones—he loved throwing fun parties, laughing with friends, and creating many memorable moments as a Father and Papa.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Eva; their three children, Julie, Todd, and Katie; and his six grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Charles, and sister-in-law, Diane. He will be reunited in Heaven with his parents, Nick and Peggy; his brother, Gary; and two grandsons, Dominic and Justin.
He will be laid to rest at Riverside National Cemetery.
