Ronald Gene Hogue, 79, passed away on November 24, 2025, in Dallas, Texas, with his beloved wife, Rebecca, by his side. Born on October 1, 1946, Ronny lived a life marked by service, loyalty, humor, and deep love for his family and friends.
Ronny was a devoted father to his daughters, Amy Clark and Tammy Harper, and a loving stepfather to John Beach, Ashley Smith, Mary Beach, and Elizabeth Beach Kol. Family meant everything to him, and he took great pride in each of his children and grandchildren.
He attended Maple Lawn Elementary, Rusk Junior High, and North Dallas High School, where he excelled in football and earned scholarship offers. Choosing instead to serve his country, Ronny enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving in Vietnam, and later continued his service in the National Guard. Following his military career and retirement from Kodak, he worked at the Dallas Morning News, and later the Transportation Security Administration. While a supervisor at TSA, Ronny was recognized for his exceptional diligence in detecting a terrorist threat, earning a medal and a personal call of commendation from Secretary Michael Chertoff. He later retired due to declining health.
Ronny enjoyed an active life and loved bowling, golfing, and playing senior softball. One of his proudest accomplishments was bowling a 298 game in his league, for which he received a ring. He remained especially close to his classmates from North Dallas High School, regularly attending reunions, homecoming events, parties, dances, and gatherings at the State Fair of Texas.
Known for his compassion, humor, and infectious personality, Ronny had a constant twinkle in his eye. He loved to dance, tell jokes, and make others laugh, leaving lasting impressions on everyone he met.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and L.C. Hogue; his brother, Thomas Hogue; and his grandson, D.J. Charles.
Ronny is survived by his wife, Rebecca Hogue; daughters Amy Clark and Tammy Harper, and their mother, Lynn Hogue; son-in-law Alan Clark; stepchildren John Beach, Ashley Smith and husband Ben, Mary Beach and husband Steve Flusche, and Elizabeth Beach Kol and husband Ly Hov; brother Larry Hogue and wife Lori; grandchildren Tiffany Charles, Brandon Charles, Ronnie Charles, Nathan Charles, Molly Clark, Wyatt Clark, Nolen Smith and wife Julianne, Ella Phillips and husband Jackson, Gracie Smith, Paul Beach, Kathleen Kol, and Marguerite Kol; great grandson Chance Charles, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.
Ronny will be remembered for his service, his laughter, and the love he shared so freely with those around him. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.
A celebration of his life will be held at Central Commons on Monday, December 29 at 11 a.m. 4711 Westside Dr, Dallas, TX 75209
