Ronald Lee Kensler, age 62, of Darbydale, Ohio passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Ron was born November 21, 1963 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Herb and Donna Kensler.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Herbie Kensler, sister Tina Kensler and his sweet dog Samantha Jo. All of whom he missed dearly and remembered fondly.
Ron is survived by his children Stephanie and Kristopher Kensler and two grandchildren Harriet and Sullivan, who he adored. He is also survived by his sisters Dale, Chris, and Donna as well as his brother Mike in addition to many nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends. Ron was married at the time of his passing and is survived by his wife and her four adult children.
He worked hard his entire life, but in his free time enjoyed being outdoors, doing things like fishing, camping, grilling, and canoeing. He loved the ocean but felt most at home on the family's old property off of Biggert Road. Ron was fueled by the sunshine and would count down the days until spring every year. He loved plants and joked about wanting to be a landscaper when he grew up. Ron was a dedicated Ohio State football and Ford F150 fan who also enjoyed going to air shows, the movies, collecting coins, and star gazing. He regularly attended the Grove City Church of the Nazarene. Ron most loved sharing all of these things he was passionate about with his family.
Ron will be remembered for his sarcastic sense of humor, sentimental nature, vicious side eye and pointer finger, inability to sit still- except when napping in his recliner, thoughtfulness in always sending cards for every occasion, all of his silly sayings and superstitions, and willingness to help others. He will be deeply missed.
