Ronald Gareth Masury, 89, West Haven, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026. Born in 1936, New York City, New York, Ronald lived a life characterized by loyalty, creativity, and an enduring love for his family.

Ronald was a distinguished veteran of the U.S. Army's 533rd Transportation Company based out of Augsburg, Germany. During his 3 years of service in the late 1950's, Ronald was deployed to Beirut, Lebanon with Operation Blue Bat's Task Force 201 where he served as a paratrooper and light truck driver. He was honorably discharged reaching the rank of Specialist 4th class and was a proud recipient of the Army Good Conduct Medal and the Parachutist Badge.

Professionally, Ronald began his career as a hotel manager before transitioning into insurance and advertising sales. However, it was during his tenure with Thomson Newspapers that he truly thrived, with over fifteen years as a Publisher and General Manager in New York, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut.

Beyond his career, Ronald was a talented artist who found solace in drawing, painting, and photography. He took pride in caring for his home and garden, loved walks along the ocean, enjoyed shooting pool and having coffee with friends, and cherished his time with family. Those who knew him remember his warmth and devotion, sense of humor, tireless work ethic, and enthusiasm for life. His creative spirit was matched only by his unwavering positivity.

Ronald is survived by his two brothers, David (Anne) Masury of Kittery Point, ME and Doug Masury of Henniker, NH; sister, Susan (Dennis) Lanphear of Henniker, NH; two daughters, Patricia Masury Pavone of New Smyrna Beach, FL and Dawn Mancarella of West Haven, CT; two sons Mark (Julia) Masury of Raymond, NH and Scott (Joanne) Masury of Oxford, MA; two grandsons Jamie Pavone of West Boylston, MA and Kyle (Laura) Masury of Brentford, UK; granddaughter Meghan (Ian) James of Londonderry, NH; two great granddaughters, Natalia James and Emilia James; in addition to a myriad of extended family.
