Ronald Morris Riedberger

Ronald Morris Riedberger, age 92, of Vista, Calif., passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026 after a short illness.

Ron was born on April 11, 1933 in Hawley, Minn. to Leonard and Laura Riedberger, and was the youngest of 9 children. He graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., where he excelled in basketball & baseball, and even took a break to join the Army. When he returned to Concordia, he met and married his wife, Mary. After moving to California in 1959, he built a 37-year career as a teacher, coach, and administrator for the Vista Unified School District. Ron’s life was a life well-lived and well-loved, whether he was on the golf course, traveling the world, or spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by a loving family including his daughter, Sandy Wygal (Tad); his five grandchildren: Laura Guerra (Noah), Jacob Ashcraft (Amanda), Clark Riedberger (McCall), Mary Ashcraft, and Becky Riedberger and his five great-grandchildren that always kept him on his toes: Layla, Amelia, Lex, Jackson, and Kelton, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Jesten) Riedberger, and son, Tom Riedberger.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at First Lutheran Church, 1410 Foothill Dr., Vista, CA 92084.
