Ronald Allen Trede of North Bend, Oregon, passed away peacefully on February 6 at the age Ron was born on October 30, 1944, in Vallejo, CA and grew up in Stockton, CA. He graduated from Stagg High School. He served in the US Marine Corps during the Viet Nam War. He worked for the United States Postal Service for over 30 years.
He was an avid fast pitch softball player for many years and made lifelong friends through softball. He was inducted into the Greater San Joaquin Softball Hall of Fame. He and his wife, Pam, later moved to Valley Springs where they enjoyed golfing at La Contenta Golf Club and other courses in the area. They later retired in North Bend, Oregon.
Ron is pre-deceased by his parents, Emory and Jean Trede, and his nephew, Robert Trede. He leaves behind his wife, Pam, his stepdaughter, Valerie Primous, of Stockton, Ca, his three step grandchildren, Abby Hearn, Natalie Colon (Francisco), Devin Woodard, and his great-grandson, Julio, of North Bend, Oregon. He was very proud of the fact that he helped raise his step grandchildren and loved them like his own. He also leaves behind his brother, John Trede (Peggy), his sister, Sandy Melden (Tom), his niece, Valarie Walker (Paul) and their children, Emily and Megan.
A service to celebrate Ron’s life was held on February 11 at Nelson’s Bay Area Mortuary in Coos Bay with veterans honors. His inurnment was at Roseburg National Cemetery in Roseburg, Oregon.
