Ronald Weldon White, age 81, passed away on February 4, 2026, in McHenry, Illinois, surrounded by loved ones.
A devoted father, Ronald leaves behind Doreen (Mike) Furukawa, Danielle (Ryan) Kremkau, Jason (Linn) White, Christen (Tony) Racanelli, and Courtney (Vito) Racanelli. He was affectionately known as “Grandpa Ron” to his grandchildren—Jordan, Joshua, Jonah, Jake, Emerson, Isabella, Christian, Rylee, Everlee, Luciana, Vito Jr., and Carmen—and held the cherished title of Great-Grandpa to Theodore. He is also remembered with love by his siblings Alan (Marla) White, Gary (Bonnie) White, and Karen Schlottman; and by many nieces and nephews.
He was the heartbeat of every gathering—his laughter a warm current that pulled others into its embrace. A lover of classic cars and collector of die-cast models, he found delight in sharing this passion with his son. His playful charm earned him the nickname “Funny Grandpa,” a badge he wore proudly. Animals were drawn to his kind heart; strays became family under his compassionate care.
In a fitting tribute to his love for horror films, a memorial visitation will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Dr., McHenry, IL. A memorial service will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
Ronald’s vibrant presence lives on in every story told with laughter and love. May his memory bring comfort and warmth to all whose lives he touched.
