Rondy V. Franklin, 69, a native of Prichard, AL, and resident of Axis, AL, born November 23, 1956 and passed away at his home on Saturday, March 14, 2026. He was a beloved son, father, husband, brother, friend, and coworker. His passing was unexpected and much too soon.
Rondy was a graduate of Vigor High School, a veteran of the U. S. Army National Guard, and a long-time employee of the Mobile County Public School System at Baker High School. He loved sports and visits to the casinos. Always kind and generous, he was known as a gentle giant and was loved by all who knew him.
Rondy was preceded in death by his parents, the late Charles and Eula Thornton Franklin of Prichard and siblings Charletta F. Dailey and Charles Franklin, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife Precellia Jones Franklin; son Demarcus Stevens; children Timothy (Eyerusalem) Jones, Everick (Veronica) Jones, David (Alicia) Jones, Anita Mitchell, Natlie (Terrance) Figures, and Felicia Jones; brothers-in-law Bernard (Trecy) Turk and Phillip (Lisa) Turk; siblings Russell Thornton, Diane F. Crosby, beloved brother Dedrick (Lucinda) Franklin, and Rosa (Maurice) Tyus; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and coworkers; and special friends Grover and Lynette Smith, Bruce Adams and Mr. John.
In a final act of generosity, Rondy donated his body to science for research with the hope that it would benefit others. The family will celebrate his memory in private.
Ron will be greatly missed. Prayers for the family are appreciated.
