With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Rosa DC Garcia-Rivera of West Springfield, Massachusetts, on February 8, 2026, who now rests peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Rosa was born on August 29, 1973, in Caguas, Puerto Rico. A woman truly “cut from an old cloth,” she carried a heart of pure gold and was always ready to help anyone in need. To know Rosa was to know kindness, compassion, resilience, and unwavering strength.

Family was everything to her — and that love extended far beyond blood. She wore many hats throughout her life: devoted daughter, loving mother and grandmother, supportive sister, loyal friend, and guiding light to many. She was compassionate and understanding, yet never afraid to lovingly challenge those she cared about. If you were out of line, she would let you know — always from a place of love.

Rosa found joy in life’s simple and creative moments. She loved painting, crafting DIY gifts, planning gatherings, listening to music, spending time outdoors, and bringing her family together for celebrations. Even during her own struggles, she would give the shirt off her back to help someone else. She was selfless, driven, resourceful, and a true warrior in every sense of the word.

Her unwavering faith and deep love for her family carried her through the last several years as she bravely fought cancer with grace and determination.

Rosa is survived by her loving mother, Flora Rivera; her brother, Virgilio Garcia and his spouse Nancy Garcia; her children, John Cusson and his spouse Nadya Camilini, Cassandra Nolds and her spouse Gage Kenyon, and Gabrielle Nolds and her spouse Victor Richey; her five cherished grandchildren; and her nephew, Vincent Garcia. She was preceded in death by her brother, Victor Garcia and sister in law, Michelle Jacobs.

A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall in Feeding Hills, Massachusetts, at 4:00 p.m. on February 28, 2026.

Rosa’s love, strength, and beautiful spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Forever in our hearts.
