Rose (Cleary) Murphy, resident of Monson, MA, passed away on January 23rd. She was born on September 23, 1949, in Fall River, MA, to Thomas and Bernadette (Pelletier) Cleary, who gave her a deep sense of faith and compassion.
Rose dedicated her heart to her community. She spent many years as a hairdresser and owner of Michelle’s Salon. She loved crafting in her she-shed, volunteering at the senior center, and teaching water aerobics. She was also an active member of St. Patrick’s Church in Monson.
She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, James Murphy; her son, Douglas; and her grandson, Patrick Murphy. Through great loss, her spirit stayed strong, and her love for her family never wavered.
Rose leaves behind her children, Michelle Phipps and her husband, Marcus, Thomas Murphy and his wife, Tracy, all of Monson; and her daughter-in-law, Laurie Murphy, of Wilbraham. She was the cherished grandmother of nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Patrick’s Church in Monson on April 18th at 11am, where family and friends will honor Rose’s memory. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick’s Restoration Fund PO Box 473 Monson, MA 01057, or the Monson Senior Center, 106 Main St, Monson, MA 01057.
