Roseanne Shelton was born in Ennis, County Clare, Ireland on December 17, 1936. Roseanne traveled with her mother and older sister to join her father in New York when she was 12 years old. The family had been separated by WWII for many years. Roseanne's natural desire to assist others guided her decision to become a nurse as she grew older. She attended nursing school in England where she met Brenda, her best friend for life. Roseanne came back to the US to join the Air Force as a nurse and met Loyd, her husband of 58 years. Loyd and Roseanne were both 1st Lieutenants at Patrick Air Force Base in Melbourne, FL. Eventually the couple moved to Greenbelt MD, where Loyd served as an engineer in the 60s era space program at NASA. Loyd and Roseanne raised three children as she devoted over 30 years to professional nursing in Annapolis, Maryland. Adding to her many accomplishments, Roseanne earned a bachelor's degree in literature in 1980 attending St. John's College and University of Baltimore. Roseanne was most known for her outlandish efforts to make people laugh and she was highly successful! She was never afraid of new adventures including slalom water skiing at age 50. Loyd and Roseanne lived in the communities of Admiral Heights and Sylvan Shores for over 47 years combined. Roseanne lived at Charlotte Hall Veterans home for the last 7 years of her life where she had many friends. She died from natural causes on March 4, 2026. Roseanne's husband Loyd died previously on March 8, 2020. She is survived by a daughter, Paula Shelton Schwenk, two sons, Michael Shelton and Brian Shelton, a son-in-law, David Schwenk, a daughter-in-law, Kristin Shelton and three grandchildren, Grace Shelton, Max Shelton, and Emma Shelton
