Rosemary Hughes, age 88, of Lenoir City, Tennessee, passed away Sunday morning, November 30, 2025. She was born February 3, 1937, near Amanda, Ohio. She is the daughter of the late Dicie Waidner and Robert Leist.
Rosie was preceded in death by her husband, James Hughes; one brother, Charles Leist; and one sister, Alice Ann.
She was a teacher at Pleasant High School in Marion, Ohio for many years and sold real estate in the Columbus, Ohio area for many years, owning her own real estate company. She loved teaching and influenced many lives over her 30 plus years of teaching. She enjoyed collecting designer glass, watching sports and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Rosie is survived by two sons, Gregory Lee Hines (Kathryn) of Mount Gilead, Ohio, J. Welsey Hines (Tangie) of Lenoir City, Tennessee; one sister, Nancy Morris of Gahanna, Ohio; grandchildren: Alex Hines, Andrew Hines, Michael Hines, Kristin Flickinger (Scott) and Justin Flickinger (Cassandra); and two great grandchildren, Grey and Charlotte.
Rosie will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
