Rosemary (nee Stelbasky) Tipkemper of Cincinnati, Ohio left her earthly body on Tuesday, February 3, surrounded by her family in her home.
Rosemary and Bill had just celebrated 55 years of marriage in August of 2025. Theirs is a love story for the ages, and a model of a resilient relationship that did not strive for perfection and yet almost achieved just that, by weaving friendship and love together.
A proud alum of Hughes High School and the University of Cincinnati, Rosemary met her soulmate, Bill, on UC’s marching band field, offering to share her umbrella on a rainy day, and the rest is history, as they say. She dedicated her career to teaching special education and eventually 6th grade in Lakota Local Schools.
Rosemary was mother and mentor to her daughters, Jessica and Amanda (Jayston Muse), and an immensely proud ‘G’randma to Alexis, Anica and Emery. She taught us to sing camp songs, cook delicious and healthy food, swim, camp, and garden.
Rosemary is missed beyond measure. The Tipkemper family will continue to celebrate her existence and enduring impact through our travels, enjoyment of arts and music, reading of various books, cooking and sharing delicious meals together, and laughing until we snort.
Rosemary was one of a kind and no summary will ever do her justice, and she would also not care for any such public display, which is why there will not be a service or a memorial. If you are so motivated to honor her legacy, we would direct your donations to WGUC, WVXU or WCET.
