Rosemary Sunny (Cruz) Zedlitz, formerly of East Windsor, CT passed away peacefully with loving family by her side on January 10th 2026. She lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and an open heart, that will continue to live on through all who knew her.
Rosemary was the kind of person whose door—and heart—were always open. Anyone in need found comfort, warmth, and acceptance in her presence. She had a special gift for making people feel welcome and cared for, whether they were family, friends, strangers or stray animals who crossed her path.
She will be fondly remembered for her years of dedication to the Brownie Troops of East Windsor, where she mentored, guided, and inspired countless young girls. To many, she wasn't just a troop leader—she was a role model, a steady presence, and a source of encouragement.
Rosemary leaves behind her children: Roxanne Perkins and her husband Gary, John Berardi and his wife Donna, Dawn Sandone, Corinne Berardi, Kelly Kucner, and Christopher Berardi. She was a proud grandmother to Robert, Dillon, Austin, Jessica, Jeffrey, Jason, Timmothy, Stephanie, Stephen, Joseph, Tyler, and Kelsi, and great grandmother to Lucas and Ellis John. She is also survived by her brother, Michael Cruz, and his wife Jenny, and their children Joshua and Molly.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold; her loving parents, Roy and Martha Cruz; her sister, Roxanne Cruz, and her son-in-law, Jeff Sandone. While she is reunited with those she loved and missed so deeply, her absence will be felt by all whose lives she touched.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the compassionate staff at Suffield House for the kindness, dignity, and care they so lovingly provided to Rosemary in her final days.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday January 13, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Grace Episcopal Church of Windsor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rosemary's memory to Lyme Warrior at www.lymewarrior.us/donate or another charity that reflects her generous spirit.
