Rosetta "Rosie" Crowder, age 84, passed away on May 5, 2025, in Sunrise, Florida. Born on June 2, 1940, in Charleston, West Virginia, Rosetta carried the spirit of her birthplace with her throughout her life, even after relocating to sunny South Florida as a teenager. Her heart always remained rooted in the hills of West Virginia.

Rosetta was the beloved daughter of June Bess and Elmer Crowder and sister to Theresa, Juanita, Bettie, Susie, and Jack. Though she never had children of her own, Rosetta's nurturing soul touched countless lives—human and animal alike. She was a devoted friend, a guiding light to many, and a cherished presence in every life she entered.

In her twenties, Rosetta met Carol Reynolds and formed a lifelong friendship that became family. She stood as Maid of Honor at Carol's wedding and was honored to be Godmother to Carol's firstborn child. Known affectionately as "Aunt Rosie" by Carol's extended family and beyond, Rosetta became an integral part of their lives. Her presence brought warmth and joy to every gathering; no celebration felt complete without her radiant smile and generous heart.

A devout Catholic who followed the teachings of Jesus Christ with quiet strength and unwavering faith, Rosetta lived her beliefs through action. Her philanthropy was not confined to grand gestures but expressed daily through kindness, compassion, and tireless service—especially toward animals in need.

For decades, Rosetta dedicated herself to rescuing stray cats across South Florida. With unmatched devotion, she fed them daily, trapped them humanely for medical care, paid out-of-pocket for veterinary procedures when needed, and worked closely with nonprofit shelters and fellow rescuers to find loving homes for each one. Her efforts saved innumerable feline lives and brought comfort to countless families who adopted these animals into their homes.

Rosetta's legacy is one of love in action—thoughtful deeds done quietly but powerfully. She helped so many souls through her hard work, kind spirit, wisdom, and joyful presence. Those who knew her describe her as thoughtful, loving, joyful, wise—and irreplaceable.

Her passing has left an unfillable gap in the hearts of those who loved her. No list could ever fully capture the depth of her good deeds or the delight of her personality. She was a loyal friend to many—the kindest person one could hope to meet—and she will be remembered always with deep affection and gratitude.

May Rosetta's memory bring comfort to all who were blessed by her presence.
