Roy A. Cuffman passed away in Akron, Ohio, on October 13, 2025, at the age of 77. While caring for his wife, Linda, he became ill and succumbed to multiple health issues.
Roy was a lifelong resident of Akron and graduated from Garfield High School in 1966. He began his career with the City of Akron Parks Division before relocating briefly to Florida, where he earned an Associate in Arts degree in Orlando. Upon returning to Akron, Roy attended the University of Akron and completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN). Roy also made the Dean's List during his studies at the University of Akron. He subsequently served as a surgical nurse at St. Thomas Hospital, followed by various roles within the nursing field. Later, Roy contributed as a caseworker for the ICAN Organization, supporting veterans, families, and children seeking housing and social services. Alongside his wife, Linda, Roy co-managed her company, which focused on job placement and skills training for veterans until their retirement.
In his earlier years, Roy actively participated in softball leagues and valued the companionship provided by his dogs, especially Cleo and Abbey. He also enjoyed playing guitar, listening to music, and following the Cleveland Indians baseball team. Roy took particular pleasure in spending time with his pets, savoring Barberton chicken and chocolate cake, and relaxing with afternoon naps.
He is predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Ann (Benko) Cuffman. Roy is survived by his wife of 25 years, Linda Susan (Brawley-Tybusewski) Cuffman; his brother David (and wife Carol); stepchildren Karen Gray (and husband Jason), Adam Tybuszewski (and wife Jessica), Kristan Carson (and husband Grant); six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Roy will be laid to rest at Hillside Memorial Park, 1025 Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44312, on October 27, 2025.
