Roy Allan Herzfeld, born November 4, 1935, in Brooklyn, New York, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, at the Paramus Memorial Veterans Home in Paramus, New Jersey. He was 90 years old.
A proud veteran and devoted family man, Roy lived a life marked by service, dedication, and community involvement. After graduating from Woodridge High School, he answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army. He served honorably in both the 11th and 82nd Airborne Divisions and was a veteran of the Korean War.
Following his military service, Roy built a long and successful career with Gerber Products Company (Nestl��), retiring on December 31, 1997. His work ethic and commitment were evident throughout his professional life.
Roy was deeply involved in veterans' organizations and fraternal orders. He was a proud member of the Milton American Legion Post 423 in Jefferson, New Jersey. As a Master Mason of the 32nd degree, he served as Worshipful Master of Euclid, Eclipse, and Lessing Passaic Lodges and held the esteemed position of Past Grand Chaplain. His Masonic affiliations extended to membership in the Scottish Rite and other distinguished bodies including the Royal Order of Jesters, Sword of Bunker Hill, and Tall Cedars of Lebanon.
Roy was also a Noble of Salaam Shrine in Whippany, New Jersey. Within this organization he found great joy participating in the Oriental Band—serving as captain of both the string band and the Guards—and fulfilling duties as Shepherd. His contributions to these groups reflected his strong sense of camaraderie and leadership.
Above all else, Roy cherished his family. He is survived by his son David A. Herzfeld and daughter-in-law Patricia; grandson Carson; stepsons Roy Pridham (Britta), Gregory Pridham (Kelli), and David Pridham (Patricia); granddaughters Brook, Alexa, Brianca, Sarah, Emily; and grandsons Matthew and Timothy.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Claire (Pridham) Herzfeld and his son Thomas Herzfeld.
Roy will be interred in Shaftsbury, Vermont���a final resting place befitting a life so richly lived.
