Roy Edward Wedlow, age 57, passed away in Milwaukee, WI on January 10, 2026 after a long stay in the hospital. He was born in Gary, IN on January 31, 1968 to Roy and Mae Frances Wedlow.
Roy enjoyed drawing, played the saxophone, was in ROTC and was known to dress nice and wear Kangol hats in high school. He enlisted in the Army and was medically discharged in 1987. Roy moved to Milwaukee shortly after and lived there most of his life. He was the owner of Cedar Roof Restorations. He held a heavy construction machinery operators license and Class A CDL for most of his working career. He worked at both Airborne Express and DHL Trucking.
Roy loved to talk about and work on cars and trucks. He was best known for his love of the Word of God and his boldness to witness to and counsel others. He had the privilege to sit under several pastors in the Pentecostal movement. He was not only a member of their church, he was also their friend.
Roy is preceded in death by his mother, father and sister De'vonne. He is survived by his siblings: Roy Willie (Beatrice) Wedlow Jr, Geneva Wedlow, Kenneth (Yolanda) Robinson, Jackie (Breenon) Belcher, Atlas (Maria) Wedlow and his twin Ray Wedlow; numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and 2 great-great nieces and nephews; aunties Betty Clayton and Joyce Burris; many cousins and friends and his best friend Darnel Wesson. Roy was a friend to everyone who knew him. Visitation Friday, January 30, 2026, 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Guy & Allen Funeral Home 2959 West 11th Avenue, Gary, IN. Funeral service Saturday, January 31, 2026, 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Tabernacle 621 South Broad Street, Griffith, IN. Interment Fern Oak Cemetery. Donations can be made to his brother, Atlas Wedlow.
