Russell Wesley Albright, 81, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025, in Torrance, California. Born on February 27, 1944, in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, he grew up in Delmar, New York. Russell lived a life marked by service, innovation, and a deep love for family and friends.
Russell served as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. As both a pilot and later a flight instructor, he demonstrated unwavering dedication and leadership. His passion for aviation remained a defining part of his life.
Following his military service, Russell pursued a successful career as an engineer at Northrop Grumman, contributing to the development of the B-2 Spirit aircraft, in addition to other projects.
Outside of his professional life, Russell embraced adventure and travel. A devoted Harley Davidson enthusiast, he found joy on the open road. He also enjoyed working with remote control vehicles—cars, boats, and airplanes—combining his mechanical skill with playful ingenuity. His love for flying continued long after his military years as he shared his knowledge through flight instruction.
Affectionately known as "Papa," Russell is remembered for his infectious laughter and playful spirit. He brought warmth and kindness to every interaction and left lasting impressions on all who knew him.
He is lovingly remembered by his partner Terry Neuschafer; his daughter Jennifer Albright and her husband Chris Valle; his son Greg Albright and daughter-in-law Melissa Albright; and his grandchildren Chloe Albright, Ty Albright, and Sofie Valle. He is also survived by his brother Glenn Albright; and sister Susan Albright.

May the memory of Russell Wesley Albright bring comfort to all who knew and loved him.
