Ruth Turner Alderman, 98, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, in High Point, North Carolina. Born on November 27, 1927, in Cooleemee, North Carolina, Ruth lived a long and fulfilling life devoted to her family, faith, and passions.

Ruth was the beloved wife of the late Joe Alderman. Together, they built a life centered on love and shared values. They were founding members of Sharon Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, where their faith played a central role in their lives. After moving to Kernersville in 2003, Ruth became a member of Main Street Baptist Church. Even when she could no longer attend services in person, she remained steadfast in her devotion by watching online every Sunday.

Ruth’s family was the cornerstone of her life. She is survived by her sons Myron Alderman and his wife Jamesa, and Randall Alderman and his wife Marti. She was a proud grandmother to Christina Metzger and her husband Chad; Saundra Key and her husband Lance; and Melissa Alderman, wife of the late Scott Alderman. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren Katie Jarvin, Areil Murphy, Bradley Metzger and his wife Liz, Michael Murphy, Alyssa Metzger, Brooke Holloway, Gaston Alderman, and Adalyn Alderman; as well as her great-great-grandchildren Liera Lipscomb and Maeve Metzger. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Joe Alderman and grandson Scott Alderman.

A woman of many talents and interests, Ruth found joy in creative pursuits such as painting, crocheting, sewing, and knitting. Her artistic spirit shone through in everything she created. She also had an active lifestyle—she was an avid bowler and golfer who relished the camaraderie these activities brought. Additionally, she enjoyed playing cards with friends and family.

Ruth’s fierce love for her family was evident in all that she did. She cherished time spent with loved ones and took immense pride in their accomplishments. Her warmth and dedication left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know her.

May Ruth Turner Alderman’s memory bring comfort to all who knew her as they celebrate a life well-lived. A Service will be held on March 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Main Street Baptist Church 126 N.
