Ruth Loudon Armstrong

1946 - 2025

Ruth Loudon Armstrong, 79, of Prairie Village, Kansas, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025.

Fiercely independent and full of life, Ruth built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and the many animals she lovingly cared for over the years. She was a devoted special education teacher in the Shawnee Mission School District, where her compassion and dedication touched countless students and families.

Ruth found great joy in exploring the world, especially beaches, where she could relax and soak in the sun. Some of her happiest moments were spent traveling on vacation adventures with her beloved son Greg, daughter Kimbo, and sister Margie.

Ruth was the loving mother of Greg (Gabriella) Jackson and Kimbo Jackson (Ed Rattenne), and devoted grandmother to Nora and Aron Jackson.

Ruth wished to have her ashes spread in the ocean, which she loved deeply. In 2026, her children and their families will gather for a private ceremony to honor that wish and celebrate her life. While there will be no formal services and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ruth's name may be made to the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) https://www.aspca.org/

Those who knew Ruth will remember her fun, sassy spirit and the way she lived life entirely on her own terms. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and joy that will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
