Ruth "Peggy" Conner, age 88, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026, in Auburn, New York. Born on July 8, 1937, in Huron, New York. Peggy lived a long and full life marked by creativity, resilience, and a deep sense of independence.
Peggy was the daughter of Otis and Dorothy Conner and was lovingly raised by her foster parents, Dewey and Leona Gillette. She was predeceased by her sister Doris Jay, brother Owen Conner, and foster brother Jack Gillette.
She is survived by her daughters Jody (Robert) Shepard and Jeri Ricupero. Also her dear friend Bruce Cornell.
Peggy had a remarkable talent for working with her hands. She found joy in sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening, decorating, and doing puzzles—activities that reflected both her artistic spirit and meticulous nature. Her home was often adorned with the fruits of her labor: hand-stitched creations and carefully tended plants that brought warmth and beauty to everyday life.
